Updated Information on Digitoll – Changes to the Implementation Plan

Published 22 november 2024

The Norwegian Customs Authority has announced changes to the implementation plan for Digitoll. This will affect how we handle reporting obligations as well as requirements for advance declarations.

We would like to inform you of the following updated timeline:

1. Digital Reporting Obligations: Effective February 1, 2026.
2. Advance Declaration Requirements and Phasing Out of the Direct Transport Arrangement: Effective September 1, 2026.

Although these changes are set for 2026, NTEX is actively working to implement the necessary solutions earlier. Our goal is to be fully operational well before these deadlines to ensure a smooth transition for all our customers.
Digitoll represents an important step towards a more efficient and digitalized customs process. For you as a customer, this means a simpler and more predictable process for border crossings and customs clearances.
We also encourage our customers to ensure that the information on commercial invoices is accurate and compliant with the requirements.

Please refer to our previous article for a detailed overview of what invoices must include for imports and exports: The requirements for the content on a commercial invoice.

Best regards,
NTEX
