Information on changes to road tax in the Netherlands and Belgium effective from July 1st 2026

The Netherlands will introduce a new kilometer-based road tax for trucks from July 1st 2026. The tax is part of the Dutch authorities' work to finance and maintain the road network and will have an impact on road transport carried out through, to or from the entire country.
In Belgium (Flanders), a CO2-based surcharge will be added to the existing toll system from the same date.
The new tolls are calculated based on distance, vehicle weight and emission class. In practice, this means that transport costs will increase.
Based on this, Ntex will adjust our toll / road tax tables from July 1st 2026.
