Greater focus on the European market for NTEX UK’s new office in London

Published 17 mars 2022

With a new office in London, NTEX UK is broadening its operations, while placing greater focus on the European market. The business will initially focus on the Italian market, with rail freight as its primary business area. “We see several opportunities for us to grow in the European Market,” says Dan Ericsson, CEO of NTEX UK.

NTEX UK is headquartered in Immingham, England, with offices in Bristol and Glasgow, Scotland in addition to London. The organisation already has an established traffic with the Scandinavian countries, and now further steps are being taken towards becoming a complete European logistics company.

“Scandinavia will continue to be our largest market for some time to come. We see several opportunities for us to grow in the European market, not least among NTEX’s new offices in Italy, Belgium, France, and Austria,” says Dan Ericsson, CEO of NTEX UK.

The new focus area involves rail transport from northern Italy to the UK, via Rotterdam. Earlier this year, NTEX AB bought a 20 per cent stake in the Italian freight company ITX Cargo S.R.L. The new office in London is another part of the drive to become a major player in the European market.

At present, NTEX UK employs around 190 people. In addition to freight forwarding and logistics, the organisation also has its own fleet of around 80 vehicles, consisting of tractor units and distribution trucks, as well as its own terminals and warehouses.

NTEX UK has a turnover of around SEK 600 million. Between 2020 and 2021, NTEX UK increased its turnover by over 20 per cent.

“We want to continue to grow, both through acquisitions and organically. We chose London because that’s where the expertise towards the Italian market is. Our employees are doing a great job, and we have seen a positive development on the new line from Italy,” says Dan Ericsson.
